{Fata Organa} On To The Next

I ended up quitting the job(s) with the newspaper and ended up taking the job with the county government. I actually did have to have a bit of a think about it before making the decision. Not because I started liking working for the newspaper (I really ended up hating it more by the end), but because the county government wanted me to change my hair and wear business clothes. I hate business clothes and I loath people telling me what to do with my body.

It's a job that was straight up what they said it would be, no surprises, no one looking me to make decisions about stuff I don't know anything about, and I'm getting paid more than I was making with CPW. I ended up buying a wig to take the job.

I went with a lace front synthetic wig. It's hot, itchy on my forehead (where nothing from the wig is touching my skin, so weird), and it doesn't fit that well because of my undercut. There's nothing for the wig's clips to attach to, so the back rides up my head a little. Also, because it's hot and makes my head sweat, my scalp is kind of a mess now since it's still recovering from the sunburn I got at the Art in the Park. So, now I'm considering getting the blue and green dye bleached out and going back to grey or as close to the look of the wig as I can. I don't think I can wear a wig through the rest of this incredibly hot summer. Once the weather starts to get cooler, I'll probably go back to blue and green and start wearing the wig to work again.

Toki absolutely hates the wig. He refuses to give me mooches when I'm wearing it and tries to attach it when I'm holding it. Arya doesn't care one way or the other, but that might be because Zelda tried to kill her again this week.

The wig is irritating, the business clothes make me feel like 5000lbs of shit stuffed into a 5lbs bag, and if the work itself ever bothers me, I'll just remind myself I'm doing this job for a reason. It's for Toki and Arya, for the birds, for the future additions to the animal house, and for me to get our own house where they don't have to worry about being attacked and I have somewhere I can deal with my TBI symptoms and widespread neuropathy in an environment I can control.
